First Shifts
Your Two Buddy Shifts
How Buddy Shifts Work
You will shadow an experienced Mentor across two shifts
1
Do your homework before each shift
Log into ShiftCare and read your participant's profile, including their PBSP (Positive Behaviour Support Plan). Review it before every shift, not just the first one.
2
Dress appropriately
Follow the Inspired Living QLD Dress Code. A copy is available in the ShiftCare Document Hub.
3
Arrive and introduce yourself
Knock on the front door and introduce yourself clearly. One of the team will welcome you in and walk you through the shift.
"Hi, I'm [Your Name] from Inspired Living, here for my Buddy Shift."

Before You Start
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Stay curiousNo two participants or shifts are the same. Go in with an open mind every time.
Ask questionsThere are no silly questions here. If you are unsure about anything, ask your buddy mentor or contact the support team.
Keep communication openContact your support team whenever you need guidance. That is what they are there for.
You are supported hereWe are here to support you just as much as you are here to support our participants. You are not on your own.
